Office Application Delivery Solutions

In recent years, Microsoft Office System has evolved from a series of products to a comprehensive suite of applications, servers, services, and solutions. When Microsoft Office System is accessed across a WAN, the network's inherent slow throughput, impacts the performance and productivity of remote office workers - document browsing is sluggish and file upload and downloads can become unbearably slow. That's where Certeon comes in.

Tell Me More

Certeon's aCelera is optimized with Office System application intelligence that enables them to accelerate the document flow between Microsoft Office System applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, InfoPath, and Publisher and SharePoint server farms. Certeon appliances accomplish this by minimizing network traffic, decreasing packet turnaround times, and reducing application chattiness. The result is a breakthrough in response time and scalability performance levels.

The Certeon's aCelera has embedded Application Acceleration Blueprints that enable high acceleration through an understanding of underlying protocols, data object differences, and Microsoft Office System communications. With a deep understanding of Office application communication protocols and data formats, Certeon's aCelera accelerates these applications while reducing unnecessary WAN traffic. This means the branch office workers who drive your business will experience a significant improvement in application response and file access times.

Microsoft Office 2007

Certeon's appliances accelerate the full range of protocols and file formats employed by the 2007 Microsoft Office System, including support for the new OpenXML file formats. This new format makes existing packet- and session-based acceleration solutions ineffective in speeding the transmission of Office OpenXML documents over the WAN. Certeon's aCelera < has a deep understanding of application objects, protocols, and network semantics, including FrontPage Remote Procedure Calls (RPC) and Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning (WebDAV), as well as their underlying TCP connections. This knowledge, combined with IP-based acceleration tokens, is used to pre-fetch data objects before they are requested, compare object differences to determine changes in content, and transmit only data that has changed in a single pass. The result is a dramatic reduction in the data that needs to be sent over a WAN and turbocharged acceleration for Office 2007 applications.

Certeon is a founding member of the OpenXML Developer's Forum. Click here to learn more about the OpenXML industry standard.

Accelerate Microsoft Office System Securely

Certeon accelerates all Microsoft Office System applications securely; whether access is via HTTP or HTTPS (SSL), there is no difference in performance. Certeon's Secure Acceleration Technology doesn't require additional certificate or key management and never compromises security.

Office Performance

The result of using Certeon in your network is a dramatic reduction in the data that needs to be sent over a WAN and turbocharged acceleration for applications.
