Neverfail

"High availability and secure acceleration both ensure that applications are running optimally. This is key - as no enterprise can afford application sluggishness or downtime for any end user, whether at headquarters or a branch office. The one-two punch of high availability capabilities with secure acceleration to reduce application response time, even in a failover situation, makes the combined
strength of the Certeon and Neverfail solutions a necessity for any global customer."

John Posavatz, Vice President of Product Management, Neverfail

Overview

Trends in Enterprise Remote Application Delivery and Virtualization

Branch office employees account for more than 60 percent of a typical enterprise. Recent advances in collaborative technologies such as portals, Web conferencing, and e-mail have catalyzed the formation of highly distributed virtual teams. At the same time, distributed teams are being empowered by more mission-critical Web-based applications that are more bandwidth intensive than their more limited client-server ancestors. Enterprise application delivery through Web technologies now accounts for greater than 75 percent of overall WAN traffic-a fact that has forced IT managers to seek application optimization and network compression solutions to improve application delivery performance.

Another growing trend in the data center is server virtualization. The virtualization software market is expected to grow from $810M in 2006 to $1.8B in 2009, and server virtualization adoption trends are already moving upward, toward more than 65% in 2009. The key drivers for this wild acceptance of virtualization among enterprises are well understood: server consolidation cuts IT expenditures, IT organizations are deploying more service oriented architectures (SOA), and IT managers are moving to more data center–centric management and security.

In looking at the number of enterprises that are most likely to adopt server virtualization (companies with over 100 employees and having more than 9 branch offices), one can see more than 90,000 data centers with an associated 1.1 million branch offices.

Tell Me More

Certeon’s aCelera Virtual Appliance software dramatically reduces application response times over a WAN by mitigating the effects of limited bandwidth, high latency, packet loss, and network contention, and Certeon does so securely. The performance metrics below show that Certeon reduces the response time of many mission critical applications such as Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS), EMC Documentum and eRoom and SAP by more than 95 percent.
